Manual medicine, (hands on therapy) is used
to treat a variety of human ailments including back and neck pain, sciatica, herniated discs, sports injuries and others.
If you have pain, we can help.
What is Naprapathy?
Naprapathy is a branch
of medicine that focuses on the diagnostic/evaluation and treatment of neuro-musculo-skeletal conditions. Specifically Naprapaths
are connective tissue specialist that alleviate pain.
What is Connective Tissue?
Connective tissue is defined as ligaments, tendons, fascia and discs,
blood and lymph and is found throughout the body. Your body is a complex network of these connective tissues which
can easily become out of balance -- too tight in some areas and too loose in other areas. This imbalance often results in
pain. And, you may be totally unaware of the imbalance until a build-up of symptoms reaches a level your body can no
longer accommodate, culminating in intense pain and loss of function.
What is Naprapathic Manipulative Therapy
(NMT)?
4 NMT
includes gentle manipulation of the vertebrae to strengthen the contracted connective tissue which may be irritating the nerves
as they exit the spinal column
4 NMT includes manipulation and deep stretches of the muscles and related
soft tissue structures to restore function and balance
4 NMT often includes manipulation of restricted joints
to restore full range of motion
What Can I Expect During My Treatment?

Your visit begins with an extensive evaluation
of a number of factors, including casual factors style, body alignment, muscle strength and joint range of motion. A series
of stretches and manipulation of the spine, joints, muscle and ligaments are performed to align the body correctly. Adjunctive
therapies and at-home exercise are prescribed for the patient to maintain proper alignment.
What Adjunctive
Therapies are Utilized?
Physio therapies, also referred to as adjunctive
therapies enhance NMT and promote healing at a faster rate:
4Electro therapy
4Ultrasound
4 Diathermy
4 Phonophoresis
4Iontophoresis
4 Hot/Cold
Packs
4 Traction
decompression
4 Flexion/Distraction
4 Orthopedic
appliances and supports
